Ankylosaurus
Name meaning: "fused lizard"
Height: 5.6 feet (1.7 meters)
Length: 33 feet (10 meters)
Time Period: Late Cretaceous
Habitat: Western US and Alberta, Canada

Diet:
Ankylosaurus probably fed on low-lying vegetation, as its short height would have made it difficult to reach anything else.
Defenses:
One look at an Ankylosaurus and its pretty quick to tell that this dinosaur was built for combat. Its main weapon, a bony club backed by a specialized spine in the tail to prevent recoil damage, would have had a lateral range of movenent of 100 degrees, and the larger ones would have packed enough of a punch to break the ankles of any unfortunate predator to get hit by it. On the defensive side, Ankylosaurus had armor almost completely covering its top, with multiple rows of spikes running down the length of the beast. Even without the armor, its short build makes it hard for larger predators to reach down and attack it, while its wide build makes this four-ton dinosaur very hard to flip. Ankylosaurus is one dinosaur you wouldn't want to mess with.
Social Life: We don't know about Ankylosaurus's social life because Ankylosaurus skeletons are particularly rare.
